Beauty Wasted?
Monday Missive #89
A Poem: Beauty Wasted
Do we waist This gift called beauty; Running against The giver? With… Things that don’t matter Things that splatter All over beauty everywhere? Without thinking Never blinking, Somehow sinking Into a cloud, Of unknowing, Into a crowd, Of groaning, Singing aloud Our own song; Seeing only Our selfish desires. Every step of creating, He saw as good! Shouldn’t we See the beauty As he does?
A Prayer: This Is The Day
Lord, this is the day you have made. Help me focus on you Let me focus on your majesty and greatness; Let me focus on your love and grace; Before I focus on anything else. You have created this day; I have done nothing to bring it about. I can only respond to the newness it brings. Let my response be one of praise and adoration. Let my response by rejoicing and thanksgiving. Let my response be awe and wonder, For this is the day you have made.
A Passage: For Reflection
For the creation eagerly waits with anticipation for God's sons to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to futility-not willingly, but because of him who subjected it-in the hope that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage to decay into the glorious freedom of God's children. -- Romans 8:19-21 CSB
