A Poem: Deep
Deep within my heart There is the love of God. Sometimes so deep It feels like spent embers; Lifeless, Charred, Cold. I can see them, Smell their burnt ends, But not feel them, Not hear them, Not know them In this moment. Lord, please breathe On this lifelessness; Touch this coldness Of my heart With your Spirit; Bring back to life My heart for you, Letting me Truly live again.
A Prayer: In the Darkness of This Moment
In the darkness of this moment, I wait for you, Lord. In the quietness of this hour, I listen for your voice; Wanting to hear your presence, As real as my thoughts; Wanting to hear your voice, As real as my breath. Speak to me, Father; Reveal your heart, That I might know Who I am to be; Reveal your mind, That I might know How I am to live. In this darkness, In this quietness, Let me know You are forever there.
A Passage: For Reflection
Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life. -- Psalm 42:7-8 NIV
