Monday Missive #75

A Poem: Doing?

 Another day,
Starting with
Coffee black,
Thinking about
All I need to do.

Another breakfast,
With cereal,
English muffin,
And news feeds.

Another “quiet time,”
Reading the Word,
Praying the list,
A bit hurried.

Another day,
Doing what is needed,
Checking off boxes
Of daily todos.

My focus, my time;
Doing, doing ,doing.
Where, when, how.
Am I becoming,
Who I need to be,
If my time is always
Spent in doing?

But I cannot be
Without doing;
But my doing 
Comes from my being.
Lord, help me focus
My time,
My energy
On who You
Want me to be. 

A Prayer: Let Me Filled and Empowered

Let me be filled and empowered,
By your Spirit.
Wherever I go today
Let me spread love, joy, peace, and goodness.
Help me to think as you think;
Help me to see as you see,
Help me desire what you desire. 
I thank you for always going before me,
Preparing the way.
I thank you for always being with me,
Showing the way.
May my life bring you glory this day.
Amen.
