A Poem: Smile Into Eternity

(I shared this poem before, but it is worth posting again)

I want to smile into eternity!
I want to enjoy
Each sunrise,
Each sunset,
Everything in between.
I want to breathe
Each breath,
In His favor.
Until the last.
I want to look back
At each  moment
Lived as a gift.
I want to look forward
Seeking  God’s face
Listening for “well done!”

In this moment,
In this day,
In this  life,
I want to live
In God’s grace,
And smile into eternity!

A Prayer: Finishing Strong

Gracious Father,
Help me to finish strong
In this life, this world;
That I might step into the next,
Embraced by you,
And hear, “Well done!”
Help me balance
Now and then.
Help me see
Your where, 
Your what, 
Your how
Of this day;
While looking toward eternity.

A Passage: For Reflection This Week

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
