God Is Keeper
Monday Missive #76
A Poem: God Is Keeper
God is Keeper, Of time, Of sunrises, Of sunsets, Of seasons. God is Keeper, Of hearts dedicated To truth, To justice, To loving. God is Keeper, Of wanderers, Doubters, Drifters, Bringing them home. God is Keeper, Of hearts broken, Hopes halted, Dreams destroyed, Hurts endured. God is Keeper, Of tears Flowing down cheeks Kept in sacred bottles, Someday showing us, That he knew, He cared, He wept With us.
A Prayer: Let Me Rest
O Lord, please accept my distractions, my fatigue, my irritations, and my faithless wanderings. You know me more deeply and fully than I know myself. You love me with a greater love than I can love myself. You even offer me more than I can desire. Look at me, see me in all my misery and inner confusions, and let me sense your presence in the midst of my turmoil.... Take my tired body, my confused mind, and my restless soul into your arms and let me rest, simple quiet rest. Amen - Henri Nouwen
A Passage of Scripture: For Reflection
You keep track of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.
— Psalm 56:8 NLT
