Going Home
Monday Missive #78
A Poem: Going Home
All roads come to their end, All trips have a destination. My destination is “home!” A place I know exists, But have never been. What will it be like; Going home, To a place I’ve never been. My question is… How have I packed For this great journey? Have I packed the right things? Is there something I still need to pack? Have I left something out? It really doesn’t matter, If I’ve packed just right, Or too much, Or too little. Standing on the arrival platform, Greeted by the Coductor of Time, Finally being home, Will be enough.
A Prayer: In Age and Feebleness
In age and feebleness extreme, Who shall a helpless worm redeem? Jesus, my only hope Thou art, Strength of my failing flesh and heart: O could I catch one smile from Thee, And drop into eternity! — Charles Wesley’s final hymn, dictated to his wife Sally on his deathbed in 1788
A Passage of Scripture: For Reflection This Week
Now may the God of peace - who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood - may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. — Hebrews 13:20-21 NLT
