A Poem: Master Scipt
I want to write my own script; I want to direct My own play called “life;” I want to position The players on my stage; I want the curtain to Open and close on my queue; I want to know How each scene opens and closes; I want to know How the plot unfolds; I want to make sure It all happens by my script; In my way, in my time; And, I want the audience To applaud when it’s over. But, you, O God, Are the master script writer, The real audience; The only one From whom I should seek applause
A Prayer: For Contentment
Lord, move me toward being content in you alone. Help me to focus my life in you Instead of my longings. I give to you these stirrings inside me; I give You my discontent, I give You my restlessness, I give You my wanderlust, I give You my desire for something new, I give you my need for power and control. I give you my pride and arrogance. I give You all the longings I hold inside. Let them disappear into your presence. In their place, guidance into your will.
A Scripture: For Reflection This Week
Look here, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit."How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog-it's here a little while, then it's gone. What you ought to say is, "If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that."
Otherwise you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil. -- James 4:13-16 NLT
