Monday Missive #13
A Poem: Sometimes I Get Lost
Sometimes I get lost In the highways of thought, Traveling toward a silent stop, That hangs on the horizon. It’s hard to find your way back, In the twisting and turning Entrance and exit ramps, Of memories not yet lived. Road-signs of reality Dot the landscape of time, Leading me on and off To where I am or could be. Sometimes I get lost, In cruise-control reflection; Traveling toward a city, Of the eternal now.
A Prayer: For God’s Help In Praying
This week I am not sharing an original prayer. I was impacted by this prayer by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. O God, Early in the morning I cry unto you. Help me to pray And to think only of you. I cannot pray alone. In me there is darkness But with you there is light. I am lonely but you do not leave me. I am feeble in heart but you do not leave me. I am restless but with you there is peace. In me there is bitterness, but with you there is patience. Your ways are past understanding, but You know the way for me. Amen.
A Passage: For Reflection This Week
Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my plea!
Answer me because you are faithful and righteous.
