A Poem: Where Do We Find Rest?
Where do we find rest In a world gone crazy, Intensely insane? It wears us down; Wears us out; Wears on our nerves; Wears us down again. When the latest news Comes every mili-second. Where do we find rest? When stimuli is faster than thinking; Processing becomes past tense, Before it starts. Where do we find rest When rest eludes is at every turn? We turn to the source; The maker of rest. He who didn’t, doesn't, never will Need to test! But rested so that we can! “God blessed the seventh day and made it a holy day, because on that day he rested from all the work he had done in creating the world.” (Genesis 2:3 NCV)
A Prayer: RestMy Soul
Rest, my soul! Rest in your creator. Let Him bathe you in His care; Let Him hold you in His silence; Let Him wash away the dirt rings of yesterday. Rest, my soul! In silence; In solitude; Hiding the sounds of life, As you hear only His breathe; And the whisper of His love.
A Passage: For Reflection This Week
“Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” — Matthew 11:28-29 NLT
