We Believe

A Poem: We Believe

We believe…
The Nicene Creed
The Apostles Creed
Our tribe’s creed;
But is that enough?
To believe?
To affirm?
To agree?
What if our living
Doesn’t match our believing?
Runs counter to our believing?
Disconnects from our believing?
Believing truth matters!
But believing is not living!
Believing is not loving God
With our entire being.
Agreeing is not loving our neighbor
As ourselves.
Do we call out, Lord, Lord,”
But fail to obey?
Do we have faith without action?
Truth is important.
Living truth is imperative!

A Prayer: Without Conditions

Good morning, Abba Father.
I invite you into my life this day.
Without any conditions.
Speak to me as you will.
Reveal to me where I have fallen short of your glory.
Show me how to live out your image within me.
Empower me to change where I need to change.
Empower me to live out your will this day.

A Passage: For Reflection

So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven” (Luke 11:2 NKJV).

God’s will being done on earth begins with me!
