A Poem: New Year
Whisper in my ear, What this new year Will be. Tell of the hurts and hopes, The runs and ropes, For me. What will I face, Where will your grace, Set me free? Do not my, Lord, For I cannot afford, To see. For if it is known, I will seek on my own, To be; With all my might What you delight, From me; In strength only mine, Leaving you behind, To see. My trying hard, Yard by yard, Just me. In my own power, Striving hour by hour, No longer free.
A Prayer: First Focus
Lord, let my focus be on you first! Swirling around me are distractions Both internal and external; Keep my mind and heart focused on you, Who is above all, Over all, And in all. Let me not settle into anything, Until I settle into your presence Before I think of the demands of this day, Let me think of you, Giving you glory, Honor, And praise.
A Passage: For Reflection
O LORD, hear me as I pray;
pay attention to my groaning.
Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God,
for I pray to no one but you.
Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD.
Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.
- Psalm 5:1-3 NLT
I loved today’s post - especially the poem. It really spoke to me.
