Except the One
In the down-stream of night, Moon-tree shadows Stretched barren arms Along the broken sidewalks. In our stolen dreams. We waited for the dawn To overcome the dark; Sitting in the silence Of our own breathing. We listened to night sounds, Scared, trembling together. With nothing to grasp, Except the One, Who holds eternity In his hand.
A Prayer
Lord, thank you for this day, That I did not bring into being. Thank you for my life, That I did nothing to create. Thank you for my blessings, That I did nothing to deserve. Thank you for my salvation, That I did nothing to earn. May this day, My life, My blessings, My salvation Bring glory to you.
When we are born we bring nothing into this world. We do nothing to earn our salvation. We do nothing to deserve the blessings God gives us. As you think about these truths this week, reflect on…
“For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift- not from works, so that no one can boast.” - Ephesians 2:8-9 CSB
I LOVE that oh so true prayer, and am also really enjoying your blog.
I hope you and Cheryl are having a wonderful trip and that being on the steroids has gotten your elbow back to it’s normal size and that you are pain-free.
In His Love,
