Scars
Monday Missive #90
A Poem: Scars
Ever present; To remind us Of stupidity, Of sensibility, Of ignorance, Of innocence, Of recklessness, Of responsibility. Ever present; Physically, Emotionally, Spiritually; Forever On our skin, In our hearts, In our spirit; For us To see, To feel, To know; Our past, Our resilience, Our hope; Our need For healing; For someone To see The pain Under them; The hurt Through them, The care We needed, The love We sought. We touch them And know, We are stronger Because they are there.
A Prayer: Lord, How Can I?
Lord, how can I ask why, When I don’t understand? How can I ask how, When there seems no way; How can I ask when, Knowing your timing is perfect. Because You ask me to ask; Because asking shows my faith That you are there listening; You are there responding; You are there doing; Even when I don’t know it, Even when I don’t see it, Even when I don’t comprehend it. Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief!
A Passage: For Reflection
"How long has this been happening to him?" Jesus asked his father. "From childhood," he said. "And many times it has thrown him into fire or water to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us." Jesus said to him, "'If you can'? Everything is possible for the one who believes." Immediately the father of the boy cried out, "I do believe; help my unbelief!" — Mark 9:21-24 CSB
