A Poem: Sometimes
Sometimes quiet, As morning sunrise, Casts its sweet shadow Across my solitude. Sometimes terrible thoughts, That won’t go away, Lingering no matter How hard I yell at them! Sometimes contentment, Flooding my day; A sweet knowing That all is well. Sometimes chaos, Rushing back and forth, Leaving me exhausted, Unable to think. Sometimes are always different, Each with its own personality, Winking at me, “Figure this one out!” Each time is given As a gracious gift, To ask the Maker of Time, How do I live this sometime?
A Prayer: Lord of All Times
Father God, You are the Lord of each minute, For you are the Maker of Time. No mater how easy today might be, You desire that I give you the glory, No matter how hectic today is, You desire that I seek your stability, No matter how difficult today is, You desire that I lean hard into you. Maker of Time, Make this day a day of realizing Your presence, Your purpose, Your power, That I might live As your beloved child, Held in your strong arms.
A Passage: For Reflection
Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk-not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil.
