Song of Forgiveness
Monday Missive #95
A Poem: Song of Forgiveness
O, faith that brought you to Him;
Faith and friends mingled;
Like blood and dirt in a wound
Faith as fresh as your lameness,
Suspended between two worlds.
Heaven and earth.
Let down on a sheet,
Symbolic of death’s garments;
A shroud of living, yet dying.
Unable to see His face
Until the words pierced.
Forgiven!
Forgiven!
Words of wonder, of joy.
Could this be true?
Free from guilt,
Free from sin,
Free from shame.
Knowing as He spoke,
That you were.
But then…
Faith became physical,
Your body made whole;
To walk seemed trivial;
To run seemed unimportant;
Knowing how,
By whom,
Brought the ultimate freedom!
– based on Mark 2:1-12 (the lame man lowered through the roof)
A Prayer: Let This Day
Jesus, let this day resound with praises to You.
May my heart be filled with rejoicing,
for you are indeed Emmanuel,
God-with me,
today and for ever.
Let me experience the fullness
Of your presence this day.
Let me
Hallelujah!
A Passage: For Reflection
Then he told John’s disciples, “Go back to John and tell him what you have seen and heard-the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.”
— Luke 7:22 NLT
