A Poem: They Say “Mine”
They say “mine” without knowing Who holds the ends of kites; Who stops the wind from blowing; Who brings the storms at night. They say “mine” to false kingdoms Built with gold and straw; Of possessions great and small; They posses nothing, Living in a renters paradise You create from grace. Father them forgive, They know not what they do. They believe they are king, Not you, Not you. Father forgive them, Let their eyes be open; To know, to see It is you that graciously Gives all to all, For you, O Lord, Are all in all.
A Prayer: Lord, You Are Beyond
Lord, you are beyond… All understanding All comprehension All reality All reason Because… They are created And contained in you. Father, this day I recognize That you are Incomprehensible, Immeasurable, Indescribable. You are beyond all. Yet in your greatness You choose to watch over And care for me.
A Passage: For Reflection This Week
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
Has it not been declared to you from the beginning?
Have you not considered the foundations of the earth?
God is enthroned above the circle of the earth;
its inhabitants are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like thin cloth
and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
