Waiting in the Dark

A Poem: Waiting in the Dark
In the dark, We wait like Jonah In the belly of a fish, Rebelling against you. Show us your light Of grace, Of forgiveness. In the dark, We wait like Elijah, In a cave, Dejected and depressed. Show us your light, Of encouragement, Of hope. In the dark, We wait like the Israelites, In Egypt, Oppressed and downtrodden. Show us your light, Of release Of freedom. In the dark, We wait like the disciples, In fear, Without hope. Show us the light, Of the empty tomb, Of resurrection. In the dark, We wait in a world Gone mad, Seeking anything but you. Show us the light Of your coming again, Of making all things right.
A Prayer: Lord Help Me Wait
Lord, help me to wait today. Help me look beyond impatience, Beyond my instant longings, My desire for things to happen On my time-table, On my demand, On my everything. For my life is not really mine. It is yours, Bought with a price,. Lord, today And every day, Let me remember that; As I wait.
A Passage of Scripture : For reflection This Week
But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control. — Philippians 3:20-21 NLT
