A Poem: We Are Sheep
Lord, you call us sheep. How can you be so insensitive? Are we really that helpless? Dumb, Deranged, And downright stupid? Don’t answer that, Lord, For we know we are! We drink from dirty Pools of polluted minds; We eat spoiled scraps Of misled desires; We wander off Into dangerous places; Thinking we know it all, When we know nothing. Be our shepherd today! Guide us, Protect us, Help us live In the safety Of your care. Help us realize there is Rest in your presence, Guidance by your voice, Acceptance in your love.
A Prayer: Lord, You Know My Tendency
Lord, you know my tendency To gripe, To complain, To whine, To focus on My discomfort, My wants, My self. Lord, let me focus this day On what is important to you; Let me see life through your eyes, Through your heart, Of humility, Of sacrifice, Of love; Let me empty myself Of selfishness, Of pride, Of envy;
A Passage: For Reflection This Week
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
