A Poem: Yesterday
Every new morning We start over; A new beginning, A new day; Fresh with opportunity, Fresh with possibility To wipe away the grime, Of yesterday’s errors. We look over our shoulders And see yesterday’s mistakes; Falling short of the glory Of our creation, The image of our Creator. We weep, We wail, We wish Yesterday gone. It is! By his forgiveness, By his grace, By his love, We live beyond yesterday, In the freedom of today.
A Prayer: Let Yesterday Fade
Lord, Let my sins of yesterday fade Into forgotten memories, You have forgiven my failings, You have removed my sins As far as east from west. You have thrown them Into the depths of oceans. You do not hold them against me. You have said today I start again, With no condemnation. Help me to accept that truth. Help me let yesterday fade Into the newness of today.
A Scripture: For Reflection
For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. (Psalm 103:11-12 NLT) Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean! (Micah 7:19 NLT)
