A Poem: My God
God… You are my God! Not possessive, Like something I hold In my hand, Claiming to own. But a declaration Of what is true, A statement of fact, A statement of faith. You are my God. Who is personal, Who holds me In your hand. In your heart. You are my God Who cares, Who loves, Who disciplines, Who directs, Who helps, Who enlightens, Who guides. You are my God!
A Prayer: Sitting In Your Presence
Lord, help me quietly sit in your presence, Reflecting on who you are; A loving, gracious, merciful God. Lord, let me quietly sit in your presence Reflecting on who I am; Your adopted child, Co-heirs with Jesus, Loved, Accepted, Cherished. Lord, help me quietly sit in your presence, Soaking in these truths, As they sink deep into my being, As they become a part of me, As I not only know, but truly believe. Lord, help me quietly sit in your presence, Reflecting on who you are; Realizing who I am.
A Passage: For Reflection this Week
God, you are my God; I eagerly seek you.
I thirst for you; my
body faints for you
in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water.
So I gaze on you in the sanctuary
to see your strength and your glory.
My lips will glorify you
because your faithful love is better than life.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
at your name, I will lift up my hands.
